Lesson 11 of 11
A five-minute daily routine
An order for the screens that gets you from the headline to the detail without wandering.
The screens answer different questions, and the useful order goes from the big picture to the detail. This routine takes about five minutes and one coin at a time.
The routine
- Check the freshness line, then the weather card (minute one). Is the data current? What is the word, and how far is the flip? Read the Since row to see whether it changed since the last collection.
- Open Changes (minute two). Read the headline, then the ladder: did the regime move, and did the walls or the flip shift?
- Open Max Pain and read the expiry you care about (minute three). Where is max pain, how wide is the expected move, and are the walls inside or outside it?
- Open the Heatmap (minute four). Find the arrow, scan the Net GEX row, and note the deepest cells.
- Finish with OI Delta and Unusual Activity (minute five). Which contracts gained or lost open interest, and which traded far above their own normal?
Then stop
The numbers are descriptions of a public book, assembled from five venues, and every one is an approximation. They help you look at the right place; they do not tell you what to do. The Methodology page lists exactly how each number is computed, so you can judge how much weight each one deserves.
See it on the data.
